good pizza but the service is so weak...theres a young kid there which is really sweet but the rest of them are kinda jerks, like they're the only pizza shop in town or something.. Def turns me off to going there. The food is ok. Cash only.

I'm not really sure that this qualifies as amazing, even given the dearth of good pizza in my life the past 3 years. I was pretty hungry, so I opted for a slice of ziti pizza (something I don't think even exists in SF); maybe plain ole regular is the way to go here. The pizza was perfectly acceptable, but definitely nothing to rave about. We also shared a few garlic knots, also just okay. There's a lot of fantastic pizza to be had in NYC, so unless you're at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center and starving, I'd probably pass on Jack's.

I usually never think to go here when I'm in Bay Terrace because I usually go other places for pizza and if I'm at Bay Terrace I'm usually eating somewhere else. One day I was shopping by myself and needed a quick bite to eat. They redid this place recently and it is much better than it used to be. It had a reputation for being a little dingy and dirty looking but now it is much cleaner and brighter looking. When I went in, there were only 2 people in front of me and yet it took forever for them to take my order. There were a decent amount of people behind the counter but for whatever reason none of them wanted to take my order. I was getting so annoyed that I almost left but then they finally asked what I wanted. All I ordered was a Sicilian slice so I can't comment on much but the slice was pretty good. I will probably stop by again when I'm shopping and hunger hits, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have it.

Eh....it's ok. Not the worst pizza I have ever had, but not the best either. I guess it could be good for a quick slice, but I wouldn't make it my "go-to" place. I think they know what they are doing, but the ingredients are not top quality or something.

I grew up on this johns (or jacks). The pizza is standard suburb fare (this is Queens I know but come on, it's Bayside) but for some reason, every time I come here and order a slice now, it's just, just memories. Well, actually it's only memories of being a prepubescent fatboy but I couldn't help it! The pizza was so good every time I walked over here from my home not even 5-minutes away. I would grab a slice, go to Peter Pan Arcades, maybe Baskin Robbins, then another slice and waddle home. You know, those were the good old days. Just fat. I didn't have to really think about staying, or rather getting in shape. I didn't have to worry about girls. I didn't have to worry about studies because I was uber smart back then. All I worried about was what topping I should I get on my pizza: pepperoni or pepperoni and sausage. A cheese slice suffices from time to time. The cheese and marinara are excellent while the crust and dough is cooked just rightly crisp, not burnt. I long for Jack's. That doesn't sound right actually. Whoops!

The only pizzeria in town my boyfriend and I can both agree on. Convenient location in Bay Terrace. Jack's Pizzeria BEFORE renovations: Good pizza but the place looked dingy, so if you didn't know they had good pizza, you probably wouldn't go in. It didn't look like anything special: dim lights, seemed small, "Why don't we just go to Applebee's?" Jack's Pizzeria AFTER renovations: A better layout (when you enter, you see tables - not just the counter), some more seating, a larger variety of pizzas always available, and brighter lights that make the pizza look that much better and the place that much cleaner. The pizza is still good and with the new look, I think it tastes better. My favorite slice from here is the white!

damn good slices...had a margherita and a fresh tomato slice...thin, crispy, good sauce...yum. went in about 3:00 on a weekday...probably not the best time-- the entire dining area was packed with middle school kids who completely trashed the dining area...

They're the only pizzeria in town and there's no other fast food spot so if you're hungry and want something quick you're most likely gonna end up here... They got me twice already. Pizzeria's are usually family owned restaurants and even if the pizza is OK you are almost always meeting workers who are nice or at least interested in what you want. The first time I went there with my girlfriend the workers were almost playing hot potato to see who was going to take my order, they had an attitude and the pizza was below average, I promised that we would never go back... The second and last time we went was because of the reasons I stated above. I figured we just wanted two slices, shouldn't be a problem. Before the clown takes my order he slams the pizza tray into a bunch of other trays and then looks at me almost like he's daring me to order something. I had to start laughing cause this guy was 5'4" so he couldn't be intimidating if he tried. I was about to leave then but hunger took over.. I was glad that i didn't leave only cause I got to see what a scumbag these workers are. While I was giving my order he stopped to say goodbye and winked at a couple of 13 year old girls that had just finished eating there. They could have passed for 11. At this moment I wish had Chris Hansen's cell phone number to see if "To Catch a Predator" could come to Bayside. All guys stare at good looking girls but it takes a special type of scum of the Earth to look at these girls sexually the way this punk did... Please stay away from this place, especially if you have a family. I hope they either shut this place down or get entirely new staff. Anybody looking to open a Pizzaria should be able to shut this place down

One of my favorite pizza places. I'd give them 5 stars, but then I'd probably be biased because I used to walk there during lunch when I was at grade school, get a slice and a coke and walk over to Peter Pan to play video games till I was late to get back to school! I was surprised when I went there recently... almost 30 years later... and the pizza actually had this same familiar flavor. It's different. It's probably an oil that they use, i'm not sure, but it really is a very good pizza with its own distinct flavor.

after being told that Jack's was the best pizza in all the 'boros, I had high hopes. Now, those hopes were a bit tempered when I saw what appeared to be "mall pizza" - its next to Applebee's in a strip mall. Next exactly where I would expect great pizza to come from, but anyway... Its a darn good slice. The crust is at juuuuust the right width, not too saucy, not too cheesy. however, I think that their crust is just barely overcooked. best slice yet? nope, that would still be BayBridge a few blocks down. But I would say it beats out VIPizza, which definitely says something. CASH ONLY.

I've been here a few times and every time the pizza is just spot on. Always done just right, crunchy yet soft at the same time and never too much sauce or oil. This place is great and the slices are very well priced.

Expensive, but worth the money! Had a cottage cheese slice($3.00), breaded chicken slice($4.50), grandma slice($2.50), and Garlic knots(1.00 for 4) also an Rainbow italian ice! 1.50 Cottage cheese slice - YUMMY, the pizza was made perfectly, the flour excellent, very nice and cheesy. Must try. Perfect mix of tomato sauce and cheese. breaded chicken slice - absolutely delicious, plenty of chicken, pizza was scrumptous. Perfect mix of tomato sauce and cheese. Grandma slice - about 4x4 inches, very delicious. More tomato sauce on this one than cheese, but yummmy. Garlic knots - NOT recommended. Way to flour-ly, not enough garlic. Just taste like baked bread....... Delciious Rainbow Icey! About a large scoop size.... Setting: narrow waiting space for pizza, plenty of sitting place in the back, clean unisex bathroom, good service. Located in Bay Terrace Mall...could be tricky to find youself in....one entrance leads to movie parking, the other the shopping area.... Very pleasant shopping experience....reminds me of San Francisco.....get some pizza after the movie!

I agree with Monsieur's review. This is the second time I have been to this pizzeria and have had the same terrible experience. The workers at this pizzeria are disrespectful and rude. They seem to purposely ignore the customers and when they do take your order they act like they are doing you a favor. The only reason why this pizzeria is in business is because it is the only pizzeria there. I hope another pizzeria opens up in bay terrace so that they could put this place out of business. The owners of this place need to do something about the service.

Decent place but they closed down and completely re-did the insides- still a stupid layout, raised prices on everything, quality is worse than before. Had an order delivered they estimated 35-45 minutes, actually took an unacceptable hour and 15 minutes, and of course it was all cold. Off my list.

My favorite spot to go after a hard day of studying! Get the slice or grandma slice... droools! Trust me guys this spot might not seem enticing at first but walk in boom the aroma of the well oiled slice just speaks to you

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I remember how in my elementary school days, my friends and I would just head on over to Jack's to grab a slice or order a whole pie - I think back then it was $14 - to share. I have not found anything comparable to Jack's in the NY pizza circuit. Don't let the mall decorations outside fool you. This place is damn good.

I'm not telling you this is the best pizza in New York, at all. But if you are in Bay Terrace for a movie or anything, I reccomend you go here to eat. The pizza is good, the prices are even better, and they have italian ices in the summer.

This place gets lots of stars only because I have lots of memories from here. This was the only place I could afford as a hungry youngin let go from school. But the people that sell you your pizza are MEANNNNNNNN.

This is the pizza I started eating when I was a baby. It is 100% authentic NY pizza and is the best I have ever had. I really miss this place and can't wait to visit again.

Many things have changed in my life but Jacks Pizza always good and always there. I have been going there for over 20 years and the Pizza (and other dishes) are always good. Service is decent and it's clean. Now go get a slice !

This pizza is one of my favorites and it is just hidden in the confines of suburbia. Located in the bay terrace shopping center, it looks like any other pizza place, but wrong. This has to be one of the best pizza places in Queens and in my opinion, the city of new york. I am a regular here when I'm in town and they're pizza comes in the slices. Their sauce is mouth-watering while the pizza isn't too thin while also not being too thick either. Just right. The crust and cheese hit the spot. The place usually isn't crowded, but can be full of annoying teens at times. If needed, just take out and head over to one of the many stores or just sit out on a bench and enjoy the weather if it's a nice day out. Tomato sauce is some of the best I've had on a pizza. Just plain. No need for any add-ons.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
